As with many nonprofits, AGUILAS relies on the strength and commitment of its volunteers to move the organization forward. We help

our members navigate the physical, emotional and social challenges faced by the Bay Area’s Latinx population by minimizing the impact

of HIV/STIs on the community and by providing vital mental health support through 1-on-1 and group services.

3. Participate in a virtual, 60-minute new volunteer orientation

Here’s a list of the different ways you can get involved with AGUILAS:

ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT

• Help with data entry and mailing parties

SPECIAL EVENTS​

• Provide day-of assistance with special events – from greeting and ushering to setup and breakdown

​

EVENT PLANNING & OUTREACH

• Support the planning, outreach and logistics efforts of our annual gala, socials and ongoing community events

PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

• Provide guidance and expertise to members regarding a wide range of skills

• Host engaging webinars that offer advice on everything from resume writing for job seekers to money management for immigrants

• Help expand our program offerings by pitching us your own ideas

  • ​Want to bring your grandmother’s favorite tamales to life for hungry members? Like to sing and want to teach others how to carry a tune?
