New Member Orientations
Individuals who are interested in becoming a member of AGUILAS will need to attend a new member orientation. This welcome session will give participants in overview of services offered and history of AGUILAS. It will also give you a chance to meet other new members and share as a gay bisexual latino man in a safe and comfortable setting.
Bimonthly Groups
These discussion groups meet every second and fourth Tuesday of every month. This is where you could meet other Latino gay/bisexual men and talk about sex, HIV, family, being gay/bisexual and other issues that effect us as gay/bisexual latino men. Meetings begin at 6:00 PM and end at 9 PM. From 6:00 to 6:45 dinner will be provided and give you a chance to socialize with other members in order to build community. 6:45 to 8:30 PM the topic will be discussed with a co-facilitator and facilitaor. Closing begins at 8:30 PM.
Skill Building Workshops
Discover and learn something new. Each skill building is lead by an expert in the field. Skill buildings range from mask making, computers, dance, arts and crafts, career development, yoga, English and Spanish classes and much more. Come learn and enhance lifes skills and talents. If you have a particular skill you would like to share in a class, please contact us.
Counseling
Do you have questions about your life, family issues, intimate relationships and friendships, questions about your sex life, issues around HIV? Our counselors offer confidential one on one and couples support within a safe, multicultural space for latino gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning people experiencing depression or anxiety, loss and grief, relationship problems, abuse and many other issue. No waiting.
Volunteer
AGUILAS relies on the strength and commitment of its volunteers to reach its goals and objectives. Volunteers are a big part of what makes the agency feel like a family. Working together we can achive our goals and create a more personal and meaningful experience for all of us. We are committed in maintaining a safe and comfortable enviornment for its volunters; one that promotes, encourages and acknowledges their work. To make a commitment and become a volunteer, choose the area you are interested in and contact the volunteer coordinator at 415-558-8403 ext. 302.
Prevention with Positives
This group meets the first and third Tuesday of every month. The group brings gay/bisexual latino positive men together in a confidential safe space to discuss issues that effect those living with HIV/AIDS. Dinner provided at all meetings. HIV Testing
We provide HIV testing and health screening reminder services, please Call 415-558-8403 for an appointment. Comfortable and safe setting. Results in 25 minutes.
